The Owyhee Lacrosse Club Corporation is dedicated to organizing, developing and promoting the sport of lacrosse within the Owyhee High School community, while fielding a competitive team at the high school level.
We honour the game by instilling sportsmanship and integrity, in an environment that places team accomplishment above personal achievement. We develop leaders through scholastic achievement, athletic endeavour and community service.

How that works in practice
We carry two rosters so new players get real minutes instead of a bench. JV is not a holding pen — it is where most of our varsity came from, usually within a season or two. Team accomplishment over personal achievement is not a slogan here; it is the only way a program this young gets competitive.
Two seasons a year: a developmental fall season, practicing 4:30–6pm Tuesdays and Thursdays from August 18 through October, and the competitive spring season from March to May. League play across the Treasure Valley is run by the South West Idaho Lacrosse Association.
Lacrosse is not a school-sanctioned sport in Idaho, so the Storm is a club team. No district budget, no taxpayer dollars, no line item anywhere. The program runs entirely on registration fees, sponsors, and parents who show up.

Four steps
to the field
Registration runs through USA Lacrosse, the national governing body. It takes about twenty minutes total, and the only thing you cannot borrow from us is the membership itself.
Fall 2026 is open now through August 31, $295. Practice runs 4:30–6pm Tuesdays and Thursdays, August 18 through October — the low-intensity developmental season, and the easiest place to start.
- Get a USA Lacrosse membership and verify your player's age.
- Register with the Owyhee Storm club and pay season fees.
- Clear the school's athletic paperwork and physical.
- Get geared up, then show up to the first practice.

You don't have to buy a helmet
The biggest cost of starting lacrosse is the helmet, so we took it off the table. The club buys them and loans them to players — red chrome for varsity, white for JV. Earn one, wear one.

This team gets no taxpayer money, so every dollar a sponsor puts in is a dollar a family doesn't. Sponsorship starts at $500, it is tax-deductible through the club's 501(c)(3), and it is the reason a player who cannot cover the registration fee still gets a season.

Where the money goes
Lacrosse is not school-sanctioned, so the Storm receives no taxpayer funding and no district budget. Not a dollar. Everything below is paid for by families, sponsors and donors.
Including, to most people's surprise, the field. We wear the Owyhee name and we still rent Owyhee High School's own football field — and pay for the lights on top of that.
- Field time and lights. Rental on the Owyhee High School football field for practices and home games, plus the lights for anything that runs past dusk.
- Officials. Certified refs for every game, every season.
- Equipment. Uniforms, balls, and the twelve loaner helmets that let a new player start without buying gear.
- Player development. The coaching and practice hours that turned a winless season into a state semifinal run.
- Scholarship opportunities. Fees and loaner equipment for players who would otherwise sit the season out.

No kid sits out
over a fee
The biggest barrier to trying lacrosse is the gear tax before a player ever steps on the field. Every donation grows the club's helmet and equipment rental program — the loaner gear that lets a new player start without buying anything first. It gets a kid on the field this season, and it stays in the program for every season after.
